My Husband Went On a “Family Vacation” With His Family Without Inviting Me — So I Paid Them a Visit They’ll Never Forget
When my husband said he was planning a “family vacation” with his parents, I really thought he was making a joke. I asked about our travel plans, and he simply replied, “You’re not coming.” I laughed, sure he was being funny, but he was in earnest.
He told me, “I’m allowed to spend time with my family without you. Marriage doesn’t mean I have to take every vacation with my wife.” Technically, he was correct. That could have been acceptable, if that matched how our marriage had been.
The truth was, four years had passed with no joint vacation. Every time I suggested something, it was shut down with a work issue, client need, or deadline. Strangely, he managed plenty of fishing and friend trips.
So when he suddenly had a week off for the beach with his parents, but not with me, it hurt.
After they left, I grew more upset thinking it over. My patience was gone. I packed a bag, booked a ticket to Miami, and decided to let them see what this was like from my perspective.
A few hours later, I arrived at their hotel.
That’s where my first shock came.
MY OWN SISTER’S CAR WAS PARKED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL.
I was stunned. She had no reason to be there. She mentioned no trip; my husband never indicated she’d be included.
Leaving my rental, I walked through the lobby and straight to the elevators.
Right then, another surprise awaited me.⬇️
