After my teenage daughter died, I decided to give her prom dress to a girl who couldn’t afford one — and on the day of graduation, a black limousine was parked in front of my home.

I had raised Scarlett on my own since she was a baby.

In her last year of school, she was everything I dreamed of in a daughter — compassionate, understanding, and always ready to help. Scarlett received excellent grades and had ambitions to attend an Ivy League school. She had a definite plan, and I was certain she would achieve it.

However, three months prior to her graduation, everything shifted.

A tragic accident occurred as Scarlett was coming home from school, and she was gone.

The grief was crushing. Even mundane acts like getting out of bed seemed impossible. All my dedication, work, and planning were for her — without Scarlett, it felt like nothing had meaning.

For weeks, I couldn’t bring myself to enter her room. Before graduation day, I finally managed to start going through her possessions.

As soon as I entered, old memories returned in force.

Hanging in her closet was the prom dress — the one she chose after much deliberation, excited to wear.

After crying deeply, I decided not to leave it unused and donated it to a girl who could not have had one otherwise. I believed that was in line with what Scarlett would have wanted.

On graduation morning, while I was alone, a horn sounded from outside.

Looking out, I saw a black limousine parked in front of the house.

The driver honked again then stepped out and opened the rear door.

Still unsure, I went outside to the vehicle.

As I leaned over and looked inside, disbelief overtook me.

“No… That’s impossible.” ⬇️
