🍽️🥩 Liver & Onions with Rich Brown Gravy

Tender beef liver, sweet caramelized onions, and savory gravy — hearty, nostalgic, and deeply satisfying.

📝 Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef liver, sliced

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced

  • 1½ tbsp Chef Bae All-Purpose Seasoning

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp oil or butter (or a mix of both)

  • 1½ cups beef broth

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • Black pepper, to taste

🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep the Liver

  • Rinse liver slices and pat completely dry with paper towels.

  • Season lightly with black pepper.

  • Dredge liver in flour, shaking off excess. (Reserve remaining flour.)

2️⃣ Caramelize the Onions

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add sliced onions and cook 10–12 minutes, stirring often, until soft, golden, and sweet.

  • Remove onions from skillet and set aside.

3️⃣ Cook the Liver

  • Add remaining oil/butter to the same skillet.

  • Increase heat to medium-high.

  • Add liver slices in a single layer (work in batches if needed).

  • Cook 1½–2 minutes per side only until browned but still tender.

  • Remove liver and set aside with onions.

4️⃣ Make the Gravy

  • Lower heat to medium.

  • Sprinkle 1–2 tbsp of reserved flour into the pan drippings and whisk.

  • Slowly pour in beef broth while whisking to avoid lumps.

  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce and Chef Bae All-Purpose Seasoning.

  • Simmer 3–5 minutes until thick and glossy.
