Ingredients

  • 6 cups frozen shredded hash brown potatoes, thawed

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (plus extra for topping)

  • ½ cup crushed Ritz crackers or panko breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted (for topping, optional)


Directions

  1. Preheat Oven
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Prepare the Potato Mixture
    In a large bowl, combine thawed hash browns, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, melted butter, onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir in crumbled bacon.

  3. Assemble in Baking Dish
    Spread the potato mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
