Ingredients

6 cups frozen shredded hash brown potatoes, thawed

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

1 small onion, finely chopped

½ tsp garlic powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (plus extra for topping)

½ cup crushed Ritz crackers or panko breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)

2 Tbsp butter, melted (for topping, optional)
Directions

Preheat Oven
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. -
Prepare the Potato Mixture
In a large bowl, combine thawed hash browns, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, melted butter, onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir in crumbled bacon. -
Assemble in Baking Dish
Spread the potato mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. -
Optional Topping
Mix crushed crackers or panko with 2 Tbsp melted butter and sprinkle over the top for a crunchy, golden crust. -
Bake
Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes, until the casserole is hot, bubbly, and golden on top. -
Serve
Let cool 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra crumbled bacon or chopped parsley if desired.
