🧀🥩 Mozzarella Cheesesteak Stromboli

This Mozzarella Cheesesteak Stromboli takes everything you love about a classic cheesesteak — tender steak, gooey melted cheese, and buttery golden dough — and wraps it into one irresistible, handheld creation. It’s warm, cheesy, and perfect for family dinners, game nights, parties, or anytime you want a recipe that looks impressive but is incredibly easy to make.

Using refrigerated pizza dough keeps things simple while giving you that bakery-style golden crust. The melted mozzarella inside creates beautiful cheese pulls in every slice!

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 (13.4 oz) Pillsbury classic refrigerated pizza dough

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

  • 1½ lbs grilled sirloin steak, roughly chopped

  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional, for topping)

  • Marinara, ranch, or cheese sauce for dipping

👩‍🍳 Directions

1. Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.

2. Cook the veggies

In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, sliced onions, and bell peppers. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Cook until soft and lightly golden, about 6–8 minutes. Remove from heat.

3. Prepare the steak mixture

Add the roughly chopped grilled sirloin steak to the skillet with the cooked onions and peppers. Toss gently to warm everything through. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

4. Roll out the dough

Place the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Roll it out into a large rectangle about ¼-inch thick.

5. Layer the filling

Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella down the center of the dough, leaving about 2 inches on each side for folding.
Spoon the steak-onion-pepper mixture evenly over the cheese.
Top with the remaining 1 cup mozzarella.

6. Fold and seal the stromboli

Fold the long sides of the dough over the filling, overlapping slightly. Pinch the seams tightly to seal.
Tuck the ends under and place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle lightly with Italian seasoning.

7. Bake and slice

Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the stromboli is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling inside.
Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara, ranch, or cheese sauce.
