Ingredients

  • 3 cups pancake mix (Krusteaz or your favorite brand)

  • Ingredients listed on pancake mix box (usually milk, eggs, oil)

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage

  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional, for extra richness)

  • Nonstick spray or butter for pan

Optional Add-Ins

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

  • Maple syrup or hot honey for serving

Directions

1️⃣ Cook the Sausage

Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
In a skillet over medium heat, cook breakfast sausage until fully browned and crumbly. Drain excess grease and let cool slightly.

Stir in melted butter if using, then gently fold in cooked sausage and shredded cheddar cheese.

3️⃣ Assemble

Grease a rimmed 9×13 sheet pan (or quarter sheet pan).
Pour batter evenly into the pan and spread gently to the edges.

4️⃣ Bake

Bake uncovered for 18–22 minutes, until puffed, golden, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

5️⃣ Slice & Serve

Let cool for 5 minutes, then slice into squares.
Serve warm with syrup, butter, or a drizzle of hot honey.
