This simple dish is loaded with protein, full of flavor, and takes less than 20 minutes to prepare, making it perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick dinner.
Ingredients
-
2 beef steaks (ribeye or sirloin, about 8 oz each)
-
2 large eggs
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
Optional garnish: fresh parsley or chives
Directions
1️⃣ Bring Steaks to Room Temperature
Remove steaks from the fridge 20–30 minutes before cooking. Pat dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
2️⃣ Cook the Steaks
Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add steaks and sear for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove steaks from the pan and let rest for 5 minutes under foil.
3️⃣ Cook the Eggs
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Crack eggs into the pan and cook until whites are set and yolks reach your preferred doneness (about 2–3 minutes for sunny-side up).
4️⃣ Serve
Plate each steak with an egg on top or alongside. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired.
