🧁 Ingredients

For the Cake

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

  • ½ cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)

  • ½ cup buttermilk, room temperature

  • Zest of 2 lemons

  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Lemon Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 2–3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prep

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).

  • Grease and flour a loaf pan or bundt pan.


2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.


3️⃣ Cream Butter & Sugar

  • In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3–4 minutes).

  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.


4️⃣ Add Flavor

  • Mix in sour cream, buttermilk, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla until smooth.


5️⃣ Combine

  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
