Perfect for summer gatherings, potlucks, or an everyday dessert, this dish combines silky vanilla custard with vibrant seasonal fruits for a refreshing and satisfying bite. It’s easy to make, customizable, and loved by both kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

For the Custard:

  • 2 cups milk

  • 2 tablespoons vanilla-flavored custard powder

  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)

For the Fruit Mix:

  • ½ cup apples, diced

  • ½ cup bananas, sliced

  • ½ cup grapes, halved

  • ½ cup mangoes or strawberries, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon chopped nuts (optional – almonds, pistachios, or cashews)

(Use any combination of fruits you like, keeping them fresh and ripe.)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Custard Base

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the custard powder in ¼ cup of cold milk. Stir until smooth and lump-free.

  2. Heat the remaining milk in a saucepan over medium heat.

  3. Add sugar to the milk and stir until fully dissolved.

2. Cook the Custard

  1. Once the milk begins to warm, slowly add the dissolved custard mixture, stirring continuously.

  2. Cook on low to medium heat, stirring constantly, until the custard thickens to a smooth, creamy consistency.

  3. Remove from heat and allow the custard to cool completely. Stir occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.

3. Prepare the Fruits

  • Wash, peel, and chop all fruits into bite-sized pieces.

  • Pat fruits dry to remove excess moisture, which helps keep the custard thick and creamy.

4. Assemble the Fruit Custard

  1. Once the custard has cooled completely, gently fold in the chopped fruits.

  2. Add nuts if using, and mix lightly to avoid crushing the fruits.
