Ingredients
For the Custard:
-
2 cups milk
-
2 tablespoons vanilla-flavored custard powder
-
2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
For the Fruit Mix:
-
½ cup apples, diced
-
½ cup bananas, sliced
-
½ cup grapes, halved
-
½ cup mangoes or strawberries, chopped
-
1 tablespoon chopped nuts (optional – almonds, pistachios, or cashews)
(Use any combination of fruits you like, keeping them fresh and ripe.)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Custard Base
-
In a small bowl, dissolve the custard powder in ¼ cup of cold milk. Stir until smooth and lump-free.
-
Heat the remaining milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
-
Add sugar to the milk and stir until fully dissolved.
2. Cook the Custard
-
Once the milk begins to warm, slowly add the dissolved custard mixture, stirring continuously.
-
Cook on low to medium heat, stirring constantly, until the custard thickens to a smooth, creamy consistency.
-
Remove from heat and allow the custard to cool completely. Stir occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.
3. Prepare the Fruits
-
Wash, peel, and chop all fruits into bite-sized pieces.
-
Pat fruits dry to remove excess moisture, which helps keep the custard thick and creamy.
4. Assemble the Fruit Custard
-
Once the custard has cooled completely, gently fold in the chopped fruits.
-
Add nuts if using, and mix lightly to avoid crushing the fruits.
