The Best Buttered Noodles Ever

The Best Buttered Noodles Ever 🍝🧈

Sometimes, the simplest dishes are the most comforting, and these buttered noodles take that comfort to the next level. Creamy, buttery, and perfectly seasoned, they’re more than just plain noodles—they’re the ultimate side dish or quick meal. With a special ingredient added, these noodles are richer, more flavorful, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225 g) egg noodles, fettuccine, or your favorite pasta

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (optional, for extra richness)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove garlic, minced

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)

  • Special ingredient: ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (or a sprinkle of cream cheese for extra creaminess)

  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped, for garnish

Directions

1. Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.

  3. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and then drain the noodles.

2. Prepare the Butter Sauce

  1. In the same pot or a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil (if using).

  2. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn.

  3. Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine.

3. Combine Noodles and Special Ingredient

  1. Return the drained noodles to the pot or skillet.

  2. Toss noodles in the butter sauce, making sure each strand is evenly coated.

  3. Add your special ingredient—Parmesan cheese or a small amount of cream cheese—and stir until melted and creamy.

  4. If the noodles seem dry, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce and create extra silkiness.

4. Serve

  • Plate the buttered noodles immediately.

  • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or chives for color and a hint of freshness.

  • Optionally, add extra grated Parmesan on top for a cheesy finish.
