Ingredients

For the Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each, skin-on or skinless)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing the grill or pan)

For the Buttery Sweet Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for subtle smoky flavor)

Optional Garnish:

  • Lemon wedges

  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped

Directions

1. Prepare the Glaze

  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.

  2. Add brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, minced garlic, and smoked paprika.

  3. Stir continuously until sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and set aside.

2. Prepare the Salmon

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels.

  2. Season both sides lightly with salt and black pepper.

  3. Brush a little olive oil on the grill grates or skillet to prevent sticking.

3. Grill the Salmon

Option 1: Outdoor Grill

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

  2. Place salmon fillets skin-side down and grill for 4–5 minutes.

  3. Flip carefully and brush generously with the buttery sweet glaze.

  4. Grill for another 3–4 minutes, brushing with additional glaze as needed, until salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and flakes easily with a fork.

Option 2: Oven-Baked

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

  3. Place salmon fillets on the sheet, skin-side down if using skin.

  4. Brush with glaze and bake for 12–15 minutes, basting halfway through, until salmon is cooked through.
