🛒 Ingredients
-
1 small cabbage, chopped
-
1 lb ground beef
-
1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, with juices
-
1 cup onion, chopped
-
2 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 tbsp bouillon powder (beef or chicken)
-
1/2 tsp ground cumin
-
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
-
Salt & black pepper, to taste
-
1 tbsp olive oil (optional, if beef is lean)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Brown the Beef
Heat a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. If needed, add olive oil to prevent sticking. Drain excess grease if desired.
2️⃣ Build the Flavor
Add chopped onions to the skillet and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
3️⃣ Season & Simmer
Sprinkle in bouillon powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Pour in the diced tomatoes with their juices. Stir well to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes to develop flavor.
4️⃣ Add the Cabbage
Add chopped cabbage to the pan in batches, stirring as it wilts. Cover and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender but not mushy.
