Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1½ cups chocolate chips
1 cup caramel bits (or 12 soft caramels, chopped)
Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
4. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir just until no dry streaks remain—do not overmix.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits.
6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
8. Immediately after baking, sprinkle each cookie with a small pinch of flaky sea salt.
9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
