Cotton Candy Cookies
These soft, chewy cookies bring a burst of color and fun with a cotton candy twist! Perfect for parties or a sweet treat anytime.
Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
Pink food coloring (a few drops)
Blue food coloring (a few drops)
Cotton candy flavoring (optional)
Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the egg, vanilla, almond extract, and cotton candy flavoring (if using).
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
Divide dough into two, add pink food coloring to one, and blue to the other.
Roll small amounts of both doughs into balls, then flatten them into cookie shapes.
Place on the baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart. Optionally, add sprinkles on top.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
