Caramel Apple Dump Cake
Ingredients:
2 (21 oz) cans apple pie filling
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)
Directions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare Baking Dish: Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
Layer Apple Filling: Pour the apple pie filling into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon over the apple filling.
Add Caramel Sauce: Drizzle half of the caramel sauce (about 1/2 cup) over the apple filling.
Add Cake Mix: Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the top of the apple and caramel layers. Do not stir; just spread it out.
Drizzle Butter: Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
Add Nuts: If using, sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts on top of the melted butter.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
Cool and Serve: Allow the dump cake to cool for about 10 minutes. Drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on top before serving. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
