🍫 Rich Chocolate Cake Recipe
🛒 Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1½ cups granulated sugar
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt (you had “sal”—corrected to salt)
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
½ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
👩🍳 Instructions
Prep the Oven & Pan:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or two 9-inch round cake pans.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add Wet Ingredients:
Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Beat on medium speed (or whisk well) until the batter is smooth and combined.
Add Boiling Water:
Slowly stir in 1 cup boiling water. Batter will be very thin—this is normal and ensures a moist cake.
Bake:
Pour batter evenly into the prepared pan(s).
Bake:
9×13-inch pan: 30–35 minutes
Two 9-inch pans: 25–30 minutes
A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
Cool & Frost:
Allow cake to cool completely in the pans on a wire rack before removing or frosting.
