Glazed Teriyaki Chicken with Charred Brussels Sprouts
Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 lb chicken breast, cut into strips
2 cups Brussels sprouts, halved
3 tbsp teriyaki sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and spread them evenly on a baking sheet. Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through until they are crispy and slightly charred.
In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken strips, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
Lower the heat and add minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Pour in the teriyaki sauce and honey, stirring to coat the chicken evenly. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. Drizzle the sauce over the chicken.
Serve the chicken over the crispy Brussels sprouts and garnish with sesame seeds and red pepper flakes, if desired.
