Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza

Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza

Ingredients:
For the Crust:
1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (or homemade biscuit dough)
For the Sausage Gravy:
1 pound breakfast sausage
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Toppings:
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
4 large eggs
2 tablespoons chopped green onions or chives (optional)
1 tablespoon butter (for cooking eggs)

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Make the biscuit crust:
Roll out the biscuit dough and press it into the bottom of a greased 12-inch pizza pan or large cast-iron skillet, pinching the seams together to form a single layer. You can also flatten individual biscuits and arrange them as the base.
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
Prepare the sausage gravy:
In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Do not drain the grease.
Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir well to coat the meat. Cook for 1-2 minutes to cook off the raw flour taste.
Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly, and cook until the gravy thickens (about 5-7 minutes). Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Cook the eggs:
In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and scramble them gently until cooked through. Set aside.
Assemble the breakfast pizza:
Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the baked biscuit crust.
Sprinkle the scrambled eggs on top of the gravy.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake the pizza:
Return the assembled pizza to the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish and serve:
Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with chopped green onions or chives, if desired. Slice and serve warm.
