Pancake Beef Sausage Casserole

Pancake Beef Sausage Casserole

Ingredients:

1 roll (1 lb) beef sausage
2.5 cups pancake mix
Milk (enough to reach desired consistency)
1 cup maple syrup
Directions:
Step 1: Cook the Beef Sausage
Heat a skillet over medium heat.
Brown the beef sausage, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks.
Once fully cooked, drain excess grease and set the sausage aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Pancake Batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pancake mix and milk.
Stir well, adjusting the amount of milk until the batter reaches a smooth and pourable consistency.
Mix in 1 cup of maple syrup, ensuring it’s fully incorporated into the batter.
Step 3: Assemble the Casserole
Grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
Pour the prepared pancake batter evenly into the dish.
Evenly sprinkle the cooked beef sausage crumbles over the top.
Step 4: Bake the Casserole
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top turns golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Serve warm, optionally drizzling extra maple syrup on top for added sweetness.
Variations:
Cheesy Twist: Add 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the batter for a savory upgrade.
Spicy Kick: Use spicy beef sausage or add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the batter.
Nutty Flavor: Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top before baking for added crunch.
Blueberry Pancake Casserole: Mix in 1/2 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries for a fruity twist.
Cinnamon Sugar Swirl: Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and a swirl of brown sugar for extra warmth and sweetness.
