Sausage & Cream Cheese Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients:
1 lb breakfast sausage
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
1 (30 oz) package frozen hash browns, thawed
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 large eggs
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1/4 cup chopped green onions or chives for garnish

Directions:
Cook Sausage: In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Drain excess grease, then stir in the softened cream cheese until well combined. Set aside.
Layer Casserole: Spread the hash browns evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spoon the sausage and cream cheese mixture over the hash browns, spreading it out evenly, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
Prepare Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth. Pour the egg mixture over the hash browns and sausage in the baking dish.
Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
Serve Warm: Garnish with chopped green onions or chives, if desired, and serve warm.
