Praline Crunch

Praline Crunch

Ingredients:
2 cups rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Prepare the Pan: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.
Toast the Nuts: In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the chopped pecans or walnuts for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
Make the Caramel: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar, heavy cream, and salt. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for about 4-5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly.
Combine the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice cereal and toasted nuts. Pour the caramel mixture over the cereal and nuts, stirring gently until everything is evenly coated.
Chill the Praline Crunch: Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature or place it in the fridge for quicker cooling.
Break into Pieces: Once cooled and set, break the praline crunch into bite-sized pieces.
