Kielbasa Cabbage Potato Skillet Recipe
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced into rounds
1 large onion, thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups green cabbage, chopped
3 medium potatoes, diced (Yukon Gold or red potatoes work well)
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Cook the Kielbasa:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the kielbasa from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Onions and Garlic:
In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
Cook the Potatoes:
Add the diced potatoes to the skillet and season with smoked paprika, caraway seeds (if using), salt, and pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes start to become tender.
Add the Cabbage:
Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook for another 5-7 minutes, until the cabbage is wilted and tender.
Combine and Finish:
Return the cooked kielbasa to the skillet and stir to combine with the cabbage and potatoes. Pour in the chicken broth and apple cider vinegar, stirring to deglaze the skillet and coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
