Creamy Garlic Butter Parmesan Chicken
Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
For the Sauce:
3 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Prepare the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess.
Cook the Chicken:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not burnt.
Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.
Stir in the Parmesan cheese, dried thyme, dried basil, onion powder, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened and the cheese has melted.
Combine and Serve:
Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top.
Simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes to heat through and allow the flavors to meld.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
