Dr Pepper Ribs

Dr Pepper Ribs

Ingredients:
2 racks of baby back ribs
1 can (12 oz) Dr Pepper soda
1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
Salt, to taste

Directions:
Prepare Ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of each rack of ribs. Season both sides with salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Rub spices into the meat.
Marinate with Dr Pepper: Place ribs in a large dish or resealable bag, pour the Dr Pepper over the ribs, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight for best flavor).
Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Remove ribs from the marinade and place them on a foil-lined baking sheet. Reserve 1/2 cup of the Dr Pepper marinade for later.
Bake Ribs: Cover ribs tightly with foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
Make Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce: In a saucepan, combine the reserved Dr Pepper marinade, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
Broil or Grill: After baking, brush ribs generously with the Dr Pepper BBQ sauce. Broil in the oven or grill on medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes per side until the sauce caramelizes and becomes sticky.
Serve: Slice ribs and serve with extra sauce if desired.
